But it's really frustrating for me that Windows 10 is interrupting my work and forcing me to restart my computer to install their updates / enhancements. Unfortunately, there is no way to control the Windows update through the Windows interface.
In the old days of Windows 7, it was possible to control the updates using the control panel of the system. On Windows 10 days, this option is removed.
Why so bad?
1. Windows Update really slows down the performance of your computer. What if you need to complete an urgent job or just want to play games, but Windows Update stops you from doing so by slowing down your system. Windows Update interrupts your work and the pleasure of playing games.
2. Open your laptop only to send a message, but it starts with a black screen: "Upgrade Windows ...".
You do not have time to wait for updates to finish. But you can not stop it!
You think you know a good trick, how to fix it. You just need to stop the Windows Update service and create some special registry keys.

Microsoft prevents disabling of Windows updates by several methods:

What is the difference between "Stop Updates" and "Pause Updates"?

You can not pause the updates again after resuming.
StopUpdates10 removes update pauses:

What's the difference between feature updates and quality updates?
The feature update is a new version of Windows. Installed as an upgrade to the existing version by changing the number of the assembly.
Feature updates include new features and updates.
The Quality Update contains only cumulative updates to the existing version without new features.
How does StopUpdates10 work?
1. StopUpdates10 creates registry key keys to block updates. This works for Windows 7-8. Microsoft skips its shelf to the latest versions of Windows 10.
2. StopUpdates10 blocks the execution of several processes used to update related to Windows Upgrade Assistant, Windows as a Service Medic.
3. StopUpdates10 blocks the Windows Update service using its own service: Updates Guard. It also blocks Windows Update ("WaasMedicSvc") because the Medic service can restore updates.
